I am a wildlife filmmaker and environmentalist based in Bristol.
With an unconventional background in drama I have a unique perspective on telling stories of the Natural World, and I am passionate about bringing the most important stories about wildlife and the environment to homes across the world.
Trained as a South African Field Guide, and with a Masters in Wildlife Filmmaking from the University of the West of England, I am currently working as a Researcher for Channel 5's 'A Year in the Wild: Alaska'.
"Ida-May joined the Winterwatch team on work experience, and immediately took charge of important editorial content. She was diligent and hard-working, and managed to seamlessly slot into our large team. She thrived in the rather testing live TV environment, and was a pleasure to work with throughout."
- James Smith, Series Producer: Winterwatch
“What can I say about Ida-May? Well... Wow! Production was looking for someone who could help out the director and shoot a bit of second camera but she gave us so much more. So much that I stole her away to be my camera assistant. By lunch of the first day I had forgotten that we had only just met as it felt as though we had worked together for years. Conscientious, dependable, enthusiastic and extremely talented, she was a joy to work with.”
- Geoffrey Sentamu, Director of Photography: The Secret Life of Books
